Best place to live in Florida that is safest from hurricanes

Best place to live in Florida that is safest from hurricanes?
What areas of Florida are considered safest for residents with respect to being relatively free of hurricanes? Someone mentioned Tallahassee as being a good place to live. What are your opinions with respect to a good place for families in terms of safety and cost of living but unlikely to have to board up windows and drive north due to storms.

NO PLACE IN FLORIDA IS SAFE from hurricaines... if you want to be safe from hurricaines... then stay where you are... When I lived in Florida, I lost ONE boat to Hurricaine Andrew and almost lost another one to Hurricaine Keith... believe me.. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SAFE PLACE IN FLORIDA... Tallahassee was almost destroyed along with Pensacola during Katrina... so whoever told you Tallahassee... didn't know what they were talking about.

The former head of the National Hurricane Center, Bob Sheets, picked a place in Southern Florida. He choose the Lake Placid area because that is the farthest point in Florida from the oceans and gulfs. Here the winds from hurricanes should be slowed to a lower level. Read te site below about Bob Sheets wisdom.

Tampa bay is one of the hardest places for a hurricane to get to, but if one does manage to crook around and come up through there it is a deadly place to be because of the way it sets so low and has little canals and penninsulas everywhere.

15 year old NY resident driving in Florida

15 year old NY resident driving in Florida?
I live in NY, but i have a house in Florida. Actually, it's my grandpa's house, but my question is: Can he take me to the DMV and get me a license or permit? I don't care if I can use it in NY or not, I just want to be able to drive around in Florida. Also, if I am 15, would I not be able to drive at all when I go back to NY?

You have to get your drivers permit in the state where you have your permanent address, NY. You cant get it in Florida then come back and use it in NY. The legal driving age in NY is 16 which means even if you had a drivers license at 15, you wouldnt be able to drive.

If you satisfy the requirements for a Florida permit you can get your permit in Florida. You might even get a Florida license! You would not be able to drive in NY until you are 16, even with a Florida license. You would have driving privileges in Florida, just as any other person with a Florida permit or license. Check with the Florida DMV for permit requirements.

Is it a long shot to become an actress in California if I live in central Florida

Is it a long shot to become an actress in California if I live in central Florida?
I live in Florida, on the other side of America, thousands of miles away from California. Could I ever get a chance to do this when I live so far away? Will they even look at me?

No.

you have a snowball's chance in you-know-where of getting discovered by hollywood. everyone out there has connections to the industry.

Florida has it's own growing pool of talent and is frequently visited by Hollywood directors who film there. Films like Edward Scissorhands, The Punisher, and a scene from Ocean's Eleven was shot in florida as well. There are currently two shows shooting in south Florida: Burn Notice and a new series called The Glades. Start building up your resume in Florida, and get an agent there. It's unlikely that anyone in California would be interested in you because I'm guessing that you have little/ no experience and no agent.

I live in California and it is a long shot for people who live here too. I'd focus on getting an agent because that can be harder than getting work.
