I would imagine Miami may suit you in career opportunities and language, and is near the water. I live near Tampa. Tampa is the "lightening capital" of the US. Not a good place to be living during a thunder storm! Wherever you choose, be prepared! The heat and humidity is unbearable. That is why we plan on moving back to Virginia as soon as we can. Oh, I don't know about the Spanish population, but I hear St. Augustine is a really neat place.

where are the best places to live in Florida and Georgia

where are the best places to live in Florida and Georgia?
I'm planning to move down south and don't know much about either of these states except for Orlando and some parts of Ga. I want to live somewhere that has recreational activities like swimming and softball and also where I would be able to have a garden and grow fruit trees and all kinds of flowering plants. I'm also an orchid lover and I know there are places where these grow naturally. I'm hoping to find a home that's not too expensive- maybe a foreclosure home that someone needs to leave for whatever reason. Any suggestions would be appreciated

MIAMI... IS THE BEST

Thats good to hear you want to move to the south I live in The Metro Atlanta Area (near Lawrenceville) there has actually been alot of really nice $200,000 homes getting foreclosed on lately and there usually being sold from the 170,000's. As far as fruit trees go the Atlanta Area is good for planting Apple trees

Clearwater Beach....yea Don't know about Georgia, I ve just been through never lived there.

Don't water it on any kind of schedule! Just check the soil (by sticking finger in it) if its almost dry - then water it. See link below, you can learn a lot about bonsai watering / overall bonsai there. http://www.plantingarden.com - just use "bonsai" search there (or follow directly using source link)

How is it fair I live in Florida - work in Alabama and I have to pay AL state taxes

How is it fair I live in Florida - work in Alabama and I have to pay AL state taxes?
I think it's ridiculous that we are hardly getting back any of the Alabama state taxes we paid in for the year. My husband only worked there for four months, he paid almost $800 and we only get back about $115!!! We don't live there, shop there so why should we pay that much in taxes? I had assumed we would get most, if not all of it back!!!

You obviously assumed wrong. Since he works there, AL has the right to tax his wages. It's as simple as that. Be thankful that you don't live in GA. If you did, you'd be filing TWO state income tax returns and paying state income taxes to BOTH states.
2 :
Florida and Alabama may not have state payroll tax agreement. Some states like Maryland and Pennsylvania, allow residents to choose what state they want to pay taxes to if they live in one state, and work in the other. The payroll taxed in Alabama will probably not be taxed by Florida. Remember, it is a payroll tax, not a head tax. All the businesses in Alabama report their payroll to Alabama.

who said anything has to be fair?

Be lucky you got that much back. We used to live in AL and our gripe too was not getting much back. Maybe your husband should seek work in FL.
