the west coast the tampa bay area more like clearwater, it's nice.

I live on the NW part of Fl on the panhandle in Panama City. I like it because we are still small, IE no major 6-8 lane expressways or huge skyscrapers. We do have a beautiful beach and lots of good places to visit and eat.

Definitely NW Florida, it's mostly suburban at best, with less crime than Florida's bigger cities, as well as quieter and much prettier beaches. The water is kind of a clear emerald color, and the sand is soft and white. The most attractive city to live in over here would be Destin. Second best would be Panama City. Both have awful traffic problems, though. If you want something quieter (but still up-and-coming), try south Walton County along Hwy 30-A.

well, the other answerers did give you good information, but you asked for the most tropical. that would definetly not be the north part of Florida!!! the more south you go, the more tropical. I live in Miami and i love it! it's definetly tropical. if i go up north to tallahassee, etc. it's very different. not even that tropical anymore. you hardly see any palm trees (: i love miami & boca raton

How expensive is it to live in Florida

How expensive is it to live in Florida?
I live in the Chicago land area and am thinking about moving to Florida, but am not sure how much more or less it would be to live in the Orlando or Miami area. The closer to the coast the better for me.

I hope you are not looking for employment in Orlando. New fairly good jobs are practically non existent .The bottom has literally dropped out of the housing market, There are numerous cash sellers (mostly banks) short selling good properties for under 50K. Food prices are generally lower than in Cook Cty. ALDI has opened 45 stores in this area and the stores are full. Their prices much, lower than the predominant supermarket Publix. Also there are several produce markets that have even better prices. To save money for all shopping stay out of the theme park Disney Universal Sea World area. Closer to the beach close to Orlando you have Merritt Island, Cocoa and Cocoa Beach. Public transportation is ten more more efficient in Chicagoland and it seems that just everybody uses it. Here practically nobody. Miami is also going through a tough time and if anything the situation is worse than in Orlando, Good condos down more than half. Crime rate in Orlando, not as much as Miami or Chicago, but it does exist,

call the 800 numbers for the chamber of commerces in the areas u want to be in. they will be the biggest help.
3 :
Check out Sperling's Best Places for a full city comparison. Here's what I found: Orlando is 15% cheaper than Chicago. Housing is the biggest factor in the cost of living difference. Housing is 31% cheaper in Orlando. -- Miami is 13% cheaper than Chicago. Housing is the biggest factor in the cost of living difference. Housing is 30% cheaper in Miami.

Live in Florida but work in New Jersey - Refund on state taxes

Live in Florida but work in New Jersey - Refund on state taxes?
I live in Florida but work in New Jersey four to five days a week. I don't stay there on the weekends. My employer has been taking state taxes out of the check. Is there a way to get a refund on the state taxes being withheld at the end of year?

The money you earn in NJ will be taxable in NJ. You may get a refund if you have overpaid or you may owe if you have underpaid. You certainly won't get it all back just because you leave the state on weekends.
2 :
Since you work in NJ, you must pay NJ income taxes. You must file a non-resident NJ return. You might get a refund, but you won't get all of the taxes refunded. Actually, you may be treated as a NJ resident as that is where you return at the end of the workday most of the time. It would not be hard at all to argue that NJ is actually your tax home under the law. That probably won't affect your tax bill unless you have other income earned outside of NJ. If you do, NJ can make a convincing case to tax that as well.
