Does anyone else live in Florida and hate it

Does anyone else live in Florida and hate it?
We moved to Southern Florida 4 years ago and I can't stand it. I want to go back up North but my husband refuses. What to do?

I don't live in Florida, I live in Jersey. However, I've been to florida enough to know that I would NEVER want to live there. Obviously visiting there is not the same as living there, but I understand why you don't want to live there. I love living here.

I have lived all over Florida, including Pensacola, Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale. I left for a year and went back to the Midwest where I grew up and hated every second of it, couldn't wait to get back to Florida. You don't mention what it is you don't like about South Florida, but my suggestion would be to look for the good things it has to offer. Nowhere you live will be perfect .... I think you have to make the best of it.

sofla is an acquired taste. i was born and raised in fort lauderdale and for college i wanted to go as far from possible. but, now i can appreciate for what it is (though i do NOT wanna live here forever): beautiful beaches and sunrises and mostly sunny weather. i do think the people are rude and the humidity intolerable. but you take the good with the bad. find things to do!

Hi I live in Florida and I have lizards on my porch so How do I get them?
off my porch? What can I buy to get rid of them? and I don't care if they eat bugs I want them off my porch. 10 points thanks

In this day & age of enviromental conservation I am really surprised at your question. I'd be flattered. Anyways why not encourage them to another area of you property (compromise) by creating a habit for them that is better than your porch.

It's Florida- you live in a subtropical climate, deal with it. Besides, they eat bugs.

Well I hate to say it but small lizards are a way of life in fla. you can try to create an area just for them w/ sm. leafy plants,alot of sun & rocks, & some water .good luck but I don't really see you ridding yourself of the little guys. are they really hurting anything? they will most definately keep down the bugs for you.

I live in Florida too and unfortunately lizards are just part of life here. I get them on my porch and I realized if you just don't bother them it is not a big deal. If you want to get a broom you can chase them out but make sure they don't run into your house, that is the worse. Good luck! The funny thing is when I was a kid I used to catch them, gross!!

Why do so many wrestlers live in florida?
I've noticed SO many wwe stars live there. Like chris jericho and john cena. Why?

In my opinion its because there are A lot ofopportunitiess in Florida for young superstars who are training with FCW. Wrestlers like Hogan who are getting on probably live there as alot of there close friends also live around and the night life is fantastic I've heard. Alsoisn'tt that where the WWEheadquarterss is?

I remember reading something online awhile back that said most wrestlers live in Florida because it's easy to get a flight to just about anywhere in the world from the Tampa airport.

Florida has always been a favorite hotspot for many people whether it's wrestlers regular people etc.

I was wondering if people that live in florida could answer my question please?
I want to move to a place called Niceville, Florida, but I'm a little worried about the snakes. I know that there are only like 6 poisonous ones, but I was wondering if any of them are located in Niceville? If you could help and answer my question, thanks!

I see no one has answered you yet , so I will try. I used to live in Pensacola...maybe 50 miles from Niceville on the Florida panhandle. If you live outside of town, in a rural area, especially near ponds, you may occasionally see a cotton mouth. Really you will be very unlikely to have any contact with snakes unless you spend a great deal of time out in the woods. Niceville is a pleasant little town, only about an hour from the most beautiful beaches in Florida...Ft. Walton Beach and Destin.

They are here because people brought them here as pets...probably because they are beautiful birds. That's probably the most specific answer you are going to get...and that's the only reason they are here in Florida. I live in Tampa and there are quite a few in my neighborhood...
