Any plant you find at a local nursery, you can plant now. Enjoy.

hibiscus are great for Florida i live in Tennessee and i have one that i keep out in the spring and summer and bring in when it starts gettin really cold...they are gorgeous and in Florida u shouldnt have to bring it in at all...they are like the hiwaiian flowers that u see everywhere...oh and they dont require a lot of work...just basically water at least twice a week and remember to ONLY water at night! or very early in the morning! they can get really large so remember if u put it in a pot put it in the largest one u can find but in Florida i would think u could plant it in the ground with some good soil thats got plenty of nutrients in it! good luck! hope i helped!

Florida has lots of micro-climates. What will thrive in Miami might not make it in Jacksonville. Some plants offered in garden centers are often not suitable for your area. Best way to find out what grows well is to drive around the neighborhood. See what is growing - talk to neighbors. See source for a zone map and information on growing lots of stuff.

You can grow colorful annuals that you can find at any garden center. Zinnias, verbenas, impatiens, geraniums, and mexican heather are some of my favorites.
