do you think impatiens can grow in sand with soil mainly sand like 80% with added soil. i live in north florida its mainly shade it will get tiny sun for a few hours. and how about do strawberries can they grow in sand too.

They do best in a rather strong loam, and should be kept tolerably moist. The ground should be trenched 50-100 cm deep, and supplied with plenty of manure, a good proportion of which should lie just below the roots, 25-30 cm from the surface. The plants may be put in on an average about 50-60 cm apart.

You could probably do OK if you condition your soil with a lot of organic matter.. compost, peat moss, potting mix, etc.. Impatiens are thirsty little things and sand doesn't hold moisture very well- that's why I recommend the organics.. to hold moisture. Keep them moist and feed tham well and I think you will do fine with impatiens. Good luck!
