I live in Florida and the company I work for refuses to change my schedule but are going to fire me for school

I live in Florida and the company I work for refuses to change my schedule but are going to fire me for school?
Im going back to school and the company I work for will not work with me on a schedule adjustment and they are going to fire me if I dont quit school. Can they legally do this?

Yes, they are not required to accomodate your schedule. Start looking for another job. THEY can either schedule you for times when they know you won't show up and then fire you for not showing up OR they can simply NOT schedule you many hours at all because you have said you are not available all those hours when you are in school. Where I work, when they want to get rid of someone they simply don't schedule them more than just 3 or 4 hours for the entire week. Doesn't take too long for them to quit. PART-TIME means not full time, but it does NOT guarantee any particular number of hours. They know LOTS of people are looking for jobs and if you do quit or get fired plenty of people are just waiting for that job.
