Where is the safest place to live in Florida

Where is the safest place to live in Florida?
Away from tornado and hurricane threats, but still live near the beach (15 miles inland). I prefer southern (eastern or western) Florida because it's the warmest.

Anywhere in Florida there is a thread of hurricanes. Royal Palm Beach, Wellington, West Palm Beach, is all west of the east coast and pretty safe. I've lived here for 7 yrs and the only thing I've gone through is a cpl of days w/o electricity because of the hurricanes, some branches on the floor and the street lights on the floor.

Because of the warmth from the Gulf Stream, the southern part of the state is more likely to experience hurricanes and damage from them Every state has it's share of weather/geological difficulties(hurricanes, earthquakes, blizzards, high winds, tornados etc.), It's only a matter of how much of a risk you are will to live with, in order to live there!

Most cities are nice places in Florida. The only city I would not consider is Miami, you can not work here unless you speak spanish, it is no longer an American city.

Most likely yes. Bankruptcy doesn't always clear judgments so you need to talk to an attorney about this, and you really need to consider what it will do to your credit for ten years.

Bankruptcy is Federal so it doesn't really matter. file in the fed district court for your current residence.

You need to file in the state in which you have lived for the greatest part of the last 180 days, which in your situation sounds like your new state. However, the exemptions you are allowed to take (which make a difference re. what you get to keep) may be those from the previous state in which you lived, depending on how long it has been since you moved. Ironically, this Federal law was enacted to prevent people from moving TO Florida (where the homestead exemption is very high) from other states with lower homestead exemptions prior to filing bankruptcy (bankruptcy attorneys know it as the "O.J. provision" because O.J. Simpson moved to Fla and bought a multimillion dollar mansion before filing bankruptcy, which mansion he was able to exempt from liquidation to pay creditors). In your situation, this provision of the 2005 bankruptcy reform act may work out in your favor.

I live in florida now. How can I get free birth control pills?
I used to get free birth control pills in washington state where I grew up. Moving to florida with my husband and then gave birth to a baby, I now take low dose estrogen BCP because I breastfeed. I was covered under medcaid which covered for my pills now i am not. Where can i recieve free birth control pills?

all you need for a birth control pill is an aspirin...just hold it firml;y betwwen your knees....works every time

You can get them from Planned Parenthood or you can lower yourself and get back on Medicaid and not pay for anything (since alot of people who are on it seem to think their Medicaid card is American Express and pays for anything). **Remember: Medicaid is for low income individuals, and for those who dont own any property nor have any assets on their name.**
