I'm from Tampa, but I actually go to UF. UT is very nice though, the campus is beautiful. The location has a great view of the river and the Tampa Skyline. Right next to downtown and all the nightlife Tampa has to offer. Not too much I can say about the classes, but the facilities are excellent, the campus is great, the area is nice and safe. So I'd recommend it.

Miami and Ft Lauderdale

Do a little research and then take a trip to somewhere in Florida and see for your self. That's how I would do it!

Miami is full of nightlife, but also can be quite dangerous. I like West Palm Beach. It's a huge city, and has tons of clubs. That's where I used to go when I lived in FL. They have all kinds of events and festivals there, too. Also lots to do during the day, as well as a huge job market. Close to beach as well.

Your age, you would probably want to check out Fort Lauderdale or Miami first. Everything north and west of Miami or Fot Lauderdale is going to be an older, more mature community than you are probably wanting. Also check out Tampa/St. Pete, that's another younger area. Edit: Miami is no more dangerous than any other large city like Chicago or NYC. People watch (and believe) way too much TV.
5 :
Destin. It's not too big, but it has a great night life! Fort Walton Beach is really nearby and it's a great place and only like 5 minuts away from Destin. i highly reccommend it!
6 :
South Beach and Key West for paties and night life.

It's stainless steal but has what's called a satina finish which means it's not polished steal and has a more dull appearance. I personally like the look and it's less maintenance as it doesn't show fingerprints or marks as bad as polished. As well, it you shouldn't need to worry about it rusting.

What is an ideal gulf coast florida town to live in

What is an ideal gulf coast florida town to live in.?
We are getting tired of the long cold winters and would like to live in Florida half the year. We are in our early 50's my husband is a builder and we are very athletic we would like a place with bike paths, fishing/boating,long beaches for walking, and affordable. We have heard prices have come down in Florida so we are looking for a real deal! We shall be working and playing while living part time in Fl.

I wouldn't live on the coast if I were you. Hurricanes are EXTREMELY nasty here, and the coast always gets hit hardest. We drove by the beach after a couple hurricanes and saw houses, trees all over the beach. Also, realize Florida is a great, beautiful place to live, but we have loads of lightning, tornadoes and Hurricanes. I would recommend something closer inland, and there are a couple great rivers to go on. We go down on the St. Johns River and there is a manatee park you are able to pull up to in your boat for free (Blue Springs National Park) and explore around the park. There are trails all over Florida, so don't worry about that. They are great for biking and walking on. Beaches, I would recommend Cocoa beach as a very clean, peaceful, though a bit touristy beach to go on. In Florida, no matter where you are, you're only like 60 miles away from a beach. Some beaches are Shark Capitols, so I would avoid those. Summers tend to be unbearably hot, so a pool would be a good investment, or get a house with a pool. Summers are known to get up to about 103 degrees on average. I actually live in the Lake Mary, Florida area and it's a great place to live. There isn't a lot of crime, it's very safe and friendly. We've never had a problem with living here. It has great, A plus schools, good neighborhoods.

House and condos are very cheap in Cape Coral, fl. right now. condos at $20K and houses not much more, especially if your husband's able to do repairs. Close to beaches, sanibel, captiva, and Ft Myers, all for just a little money! You can ride on the roads in Cape Coral. We lived in Ft Myers and dau. in Cape Coral some time ago, but we are looking to move back, at least for part of the year. Pool will help if there in the summer, but you do get used to the heat.

Dunedin, FL, suburb of Tampa
