How do people who live in Florida get their work done

How do people who live in Florida get their work done?
I imagine living in Florida, the sunny whether and beaches would distract you from accomplishing work. How do people who live there get their work accomplished?

i lived in miami all my life...and go to the beach once a year. its hard to live in miami so i have to work all the time but its because i want to have a lot of money. but there are a lot of laid back people who just work thier normal hours and party all night and beach all day....and they like it that way i guess.

the people that live here aren't tourists. that means we don't go to the beaches. the cost of living here is high...so much of our time is spent working...

I love the blue water and sunshine, but I do find it is like living anywhere else - what is commonplace becomes less appealing after several years. You don't get the rush of relaxation or thrill you did when you saw them on vacation because your mind is not "on vacation" mode. On the flip side, many people do skip work here more than they did in Ohio. There is more of a relaxed, live for today attitude down here.

How long to you have to live in Florida to become a legal resident

How long to you have to live in Florida to become a legal resident?
I am on the verge of fighting my soon to be ex husband for custody of our daughter. We lived in Maryland, but after some events took place, my children and I are living in Florida with my brother. How long do I have to live in Florida before I can claim legal residency to be able to fight him for custody within the state of Florida?? Otherwise, I'd have to fight him in Maryland, and it would be horrific to have to bring my kids back and forth for court cases. Thank you all so much!

You have to be living in Florida for ONE year to claim residency, If you are serious in staying here in florida change ur drivers licenses ASAP so they know you have been living here for a year. Or you can get a bill under ur name.
2 :
the kids should not have to go back and forth and be put in the middle, keep that between the adults

Actually, I live in central Florida..when my Jim moved here..he changed to a Florida drivers license with florida address...He was considered a resident..Go to the DMV..good luck...I think he was here 2 weeks cause we were car shopping...and the car dealership said he needed a Florida residence and drivers license...

Do you have to live in Florida to be approved for a mortgage in Florida

Do you have to live in Florida to be approved for a mortgage in Florida?
I moved from Florida to North Carolina four years ago and am planning on moving back to Florida. Someone told me that I have to live in Florida for 30 days in order to be approved for a mortgage in Florida. Has anyone heard of this? If this is true than I will have to rent a home before I can buy one which is not want I had planned on doing. I am not kidding you but the "someone" that I received this information from is a real estate agent in Florida!

"Someone" is sadly misinformed. That makes no sense whatsoever, unless you have some unusual circumstances or are trying to apply for a state or county subsidized loan designated for state residents. If you want to purchase a home in FL, just apply for a mortgage with the lender of your choice.
2 :
"Someone" is an idiot.
3 :
"snicker" On a side-note, if you purchase while still living in NC the property will be considered non-owner occupied. The rate for the mortgage (if you need financing) is much higher and you'll need a larger down-payment.
4 :
FL has big issues with people claiming that they intend to use a property as a "primary owner ocuppied", this reduces the interest rate, allows people to qualify for FHA and down payment programs. Now that every lender is tightening up and sticking to the terms in the note, they are not going to believe you plan ro reside in FL full-time if you don't already live there. You can probably get approved for an investment property or 2nd home mortgage but you will pay a higher rate and points.

Some of the typical sounds are birds in the day, crickets and bullfrogs at night and maybe an owl or two. Jets, space shuttle sonic boom now and then. Normal traffic sounds near cities. I guess it just depends where in Florida ya live.
